Stepping Out
Facilitator Courses

‘Train the trainer’ courses are the most cost-effective way for schools or Districts to deliver their own Stepping Out Reading and Viewing or Writing courses to a large number of teachers. Facilitators attending the comprehensive seven-day courses are provided with intensive training and support materials that help them provide high quality professional development and ongoing support for other teachers.

Please Note:
Courses are based on two sessions, separated by approximately one month.

• Part 1 - four days
• Part 2 - three days

Stepping Out
Teacher Courses

These hands-on, two-day courses equip teachers with processes and strategies to support students as they tackle the literacy demands of all learning areas. Stepping Out focuses on improving pedagogy for all students, including those “at risk” at both ends of the academic spectrum, and indigenous students. Teachers experience a diverse range of strategies in order to develop and extend key understandings about learning

Stepping Out
Literacy Leader Courses

As well as covering the content from the two-day teacher courses in either Writing, or Reading and Viewing, these three-day courses delve more deeply into the Leader support role. They provide an in-depth whole school planning process and explore ways to provide effective in-class and faculty support. Participants at this course focus on long-term, whole school and/or subject area planning for improvement
